Broadway’s longest running play, The Play That Goes Wrong is now moving Off-Broadway. After playing over 700 performances at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway, The Play that goes wrong closed on Broadway January 6th. It’s an import from the UK’s west end, where it enjoyed a similar amount of success. The Play That Goes Wrong will replace its’ sibling show ‘Avenue Q’ at New World Stage in February 2019.
The same producing team including lead producer Kevin McCollum produced both Avenue Q and The Play That Goes Wrong. McCollum will now replace one of his shows with another at New World Stages and see what more ‘The Play that Goes Wrong’ has to offer to Off-Broadway audiences. The New World Stages production will be the third running production of the show, joining its current National tour and its West End counterpart.
Casting for the Off-Broadway move has yet to be announced but is set to open on February 11th.
