Award season is in full swing here at Broadway Black. We’re overjoyed with excitement thinking about the 70th Annual Tony Awards. Our suits and dresses are ordered. Our last minute tickets to this season’s hottest shows are booked. And we’re fantasizing about this years’ big wins.
But before we can break out the champagne to commemorate this historic season, we have to see who is nominated.
Grab your bacon and eggs because we will be up bright and early as Tony winner and Broadway Black favorite, Patina Miller, announces the nominees live from the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel on Tuesday, May 3rd.
If you aren’t a morning person, make this your exception! We like our grits hot, and breakfast is served at 8:30am.
Miller, who won her Tony in the 2013 revival of Pippin, will be reporting live with Tony nominee, Andrew Rannells. The nominations will be broadcast on tonyawards.com and CBS This Morning.
The 70th Annual Tony Awards takes place June 12 at the Beacon Theatre, and will be broadcast live on CBS. Tony winner James Corden of CBS’ “The Late Late Show” (Carpool Karaoke, anyone?) will be hosting the event.
Now you know it isn’t a party if Broadway Black isn’t in attendance. Stay tuned for details on our Tony Awards Watch Party.
