As previously reported, The Broadway Advocacy Collation (BAC) is just getting started and doing so by launching a monthly series in partnership with Columbia Law School titled The Invitation as a follow up to the tremendous #BWAY4BLM event that happened August 1st, 2016.

“BAC, in partnership with Columbia Law School, is building a monthly series to promote civic education, community outreach, self care and liberation, social equality in our neighborhoods and the importance of unity in the pursuit of immediate social change. This series will blend song, dance, spoken word, personal reflection, and poetry with dialogue that draws on history, advocacy, policy and research to build new possibilities for fundamental change.”

 

First topic: Political Participation 

The Invitation will feature appearances by Jeanine Tesori, Karine Plantidit, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Denée Benton, L. Steven Taylor, and Alexandria Bradley. Along with discussions led by educators and policy reformists, including Frank Roberts, Farrah Tanis, Rebecca Rad, Vivian Nixon, and Ronald Hampton.
