As part of Women’s History Month, National Black Theatre’s Communication Arts Program, in association with Katori’s Kitchen, Inc and FreeDom’s Daughter Ent., will host an open community discussion, “From The Other Side Of The Table.”

Featuring Dominique Morisseau, Katori Hall, and Kamilah Forbes, with Alia Jones and Sweat‘s Lynn Nottage, this first installment of the series is an effort to help bridge the gap between dynamic artists of color:

“In celebration of Women’s History Month, join us as we gather five dynamic and influential Black women artists as they give insight and a second sight perspective into their trajectory and life lessons. What are the stories that exist from “the other side of the table”? How have they confronted marginalization in the theatre industry and what myths do they seek to shatter? By opening up a dialogue with the audience, we aim to empower artists of color to hold space with each other to strengthen this resurgence of contemporary Black Theatre.”

Monica Williams will moderate the event.

RSVP here. The discussion is FREE, however, we encourage a $10 donation to support the National Black Theatre.

You don’t get this opportunity often. These women are trailblazers in the community and to have them all on the same stage sharing their experiences & knowledge is invaluable. We hope to see you there!
