Broadway Black: Call for Media Producer
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BROADWAYBLACK.COM
BroadwayBlack.com is dedicated to highlighting the achievements and successes of African-American theatre artists on and off the Broadway stage. For so long, our voices have been skimmed over inside and outside of The Great White Way. However, we know we have experiences to share that are essential. Created for the child in all of us who looked up to the stage searching for the faces that looked like ours. Celebrating the dedication of those who hand over their life to give all they have to the stage. Paying tribute to those who blazed the way for our story to be told, seen, and heard on The Great Way.
Responsibilities:
The Media Producer will be responsible for the big picture and day-to-day activities of the video team. The Senior Producer will be responsible for pitching, producing, shooting, and editing narrative videos and interviews, in addition to helping shoot and edit select meet-and-greets and opening nights. This position will also entail coordinating pitches with the Managing Editor and Editorial staff, reaching out to press agents with video pitches, follow-up, and execution of videos. The Media Producer is also responsible for selecting 2 junior producers — who will assist in production tasks as necessary. This is an unpaid position; however, it will give you opportunities to expand your portfolio, have your work seen regularly on a nationally renowned platform, and interact with up-and-coming and established talent in the theatre.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Background and Experience:
• 2+ years of shooting and editing videos
• Basic knowledge or interest in the New York theater scene
• Experience working with talent and on the red carpet
• Editing software: Final Cut, Premiere, After Effects, PhotoShop
• Camera: Canon 60D
• Lighting (basic light kits) and sound skills (lavs and shotgun mics)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and creative
• Ability to multitask and delegate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Graphic design experience a plus
Application Process:
Submit your résumé and portfolio to AndrewShade@BroadwayBlack.com. Due to the number of submissions, only those candidates selected for an interview will receive a response. Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis until the position is filled. We appreciate your interest!
